My dream is becoming a wonderful realty...traveling on bike through Norway by night !!! I will visit from June 19th 2013, just the year before the 23. Masters' International Speed Skating Games in Stavanger, mostly by night with "light of the midnight sun". On bike, with a tent and 20 kg package on a 10.000 km long trip my most favorite places in Northern Europe and will cast a special glance on the beauty of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Northern Europe. I'll start in Niebuell on the German-Danish border. By map, by "travel blog" on the home page of my school and "by good thoughts" I can be accompanied by all my friends and other people. 3rd Masters Single Distances were held as a try-out before the Master Sprint Games in 2015. The number of participants - 285 people in 14 age categories, like on major competitions. Races were divided into morning and afternoon program, first started the young participants, then it was the turn of masters. The program of the event in addition to the individual distances were included mass-start, not too long, only 20 laps - participants were tired after 2 days, and the novelty of the season - the team sprint at 3 laps. I never saw it before - breathtaking show! The spectators attracted cultural program - Children's Dance Ensemble and Drummers performances.
Great success at the first Short Track Master Games held in Cicero NY/USA on April 5th...7th !!! 28 women and 53 men competed in an age groups format for a total of 81 competitors that came from Australia, Canada, the Republic of South Africa and the United States of America. The skaters were shared in 5 years classes based on the long track classification format. All skaters competed in 500m, 777m, 1000m and 1500m distances. The last competition for each class on Sunday was a Super Final. Lot of fun for all the skaters that are waiting for the 2nd edition that probably will be held in Canada next year.
The 10th Masters International Long Distance Races were held in Heerenveen on March 21th. There were 22 ladies and 58 men competing on the 3.000, 5.000 and 10.000 meters.
